This puzzles me, as to where the cab came from. Obviously ERF Tractor Units or Rigid commercials do not (did not) have crew cabs. Were ERF part of group who made this cab? Is ERF still in business?
I supposeI can answer this myself having just read that ERF's built since 2000 are rebadged MANs built in Germany. I assume that this is a MAN crew cab?
I don't know if it is a MAN crew cab, but according to the number plate, this ERF would have been purchased and registered in the UK at some date between September 2001 and February 2002. In the UK, ERF still exists although it appears to be associated with MAN, (See www.erf.com). They also seem to still make trucks under the ERF brand along with the MAN brand.

The crewe cab was built by Dutch firm Plastisol, and fitted by TVAC. this is also the company that won the contract to supply the London Mercedes DPL's & rescue units.
Man/erf cabs are manufactured by steyr of austria.the grilles and doors are slightly different to allow man/erf their own uniqueness.

It has recently been announced that MAN are ceasing to market their cabs under the ERF designation so that is the end to a very long British truck marque
Man/erf are still going strong. There are depots everywhere in the uk. if anyone would like information please do not hesitate to contact us at man/erf at stockton. 01642 628505. Thanks
I've never understood the fact that Foden, a much respected British truck manufacturer only sold one fire engine, a water carrier to Lincolnshire, after all, Erf and Foden were the same company before they split, in fact they were brothers. Anyway, does anyone have a pic of the Foden water carrier or any information on it and is it still still in service as it's only on a R reg plate.
