MAN TGM - Heavy Rescue Pump - Warsaw, Poland

In 2008, the Warsaw Fire Service purchased, among others, 2 new MAN TGM heavy rescue pumps as a new addition to the existing fleet of MAN LE 18.280 (both 4x2 and 4x4) and Renault Premium heavy pumps/tankers. The new vehicles were assigned to stations 2 (Włochy) and 9 (Mokotów). They were the first pumping appliances ordered with CCTV cameras fitted. Even though assaults on fire engines and firemen are not a big problem in Poland, as they are in the UK or France, the cameras are still useful, e.g. In case the appliance is involved in an accident.

Chassis: MAN TGM 18.330 BB, 4x2, 326 HP, max.110 km/h
Bodywork: Stolarczyk (Poland), GRP composite
Water tank: 5000 litres
Foam concentrate tank: 500 litres
Pump: Rosenbauer NH40, 4000l/min @ 10 bar, 400l/min @ 40 bar
Roof monitor: 800-3200 l/min.
Equipment carried includes: hoses, branches, etc., 90-m high-pressure hosereel, portable water/foam monitor, 4-piece scaling ladder, 2-piece (cutter, spreader) Holmatro hydraulic set, lifting bags, R-1 medical bag, backboard, a 2x1000 W hydraulic lightning mast, a 4,4-kVA power generator, 60 kN front winch, two Stihl chainsaws, a Partner concrete saw, Auer breathing apparatus, Adalit L-2000 flashlights.

This appliance is station at the Fire and Rescue Unit 9 (address: Domaniewska 40a), which provides fire cover for a relatively small, but densely populated area of Mokotow, south of the city centre. Station 9 specialises in flood relief duties.

Mateusz:

Great photo; and details of the fire-truck, and its Fire Service.

So complete a description that I can't think of a question to ask !

Always interesting to learn how other Fire Services do their thing.

Thanks, from Canada,

Amazing progress in the past few decades, compared to what the socialist-era fire services had to make do with! Just take a look at some of the older Polish trucks right here on this site.
