as usual, the transport museum has crammed them in to the corner. Was this shot taken at Kelvin Hall?. Always remember them as being tucked in tight just next to the Glasgow street Scene.

Steve,

Yeh I'm sure they will get a bit more room at the new museum when it opens.

Andy, thanks for sending this picture in, my picture is from the other end of the
balcony showing all the appliance before they moved everything closer together.
I thought we should add the registration, I do hope you don't mind. Its GXA 98,
and also this is a 1942/43 Dennis with a 100ft Merryweather turntable ladder
not a Leyland with a Metz ladder.
See Bob Graham's photo (picture 12503)of GXA 97, another Dennis/Merryweather.

I understand that there are plans for the ladder to be displayed in the elevated position

Peter,

Thanks, I really didn't think it would be posted up so I didn't put any details on it! And yes Merryweather not Metz!!!

So what is the old open pump in front of the TL? A Dennis perhaps? would love to see a photo of that, (if I haven't missed one already).
What a nice cluster of machines, that Firemaster is something special. Are these just static exhibits or any idea if they are runners?

I believe it is a Dennis, it was donated by an Irish Fire Brigade when some fire engines were donated by Glasgow Fire Service to improve fire fighting provision

The open pump is ex Galway and is an Albion Merryweather not a Dennis and was swopped for a Leyland TD7 Merryweather Turntable Ladder in the 1960's

Great string of photos of Dennis Merryweather TLs. Surely someone connected with these great units has a motor manual I could purchase so that I may rebuild the Meadows 6 EX in my 1940 Dennis Merryweather TL, former London Fire Brigade. Please help, Rodger, USA

Ah yes, that Hatfield piston pump on the Merryweather is a dead giveaway!
