Fire Engines Photos

Nice photo Ron, like so many Aussie machines, this looks like its designed by firemen! The volunteer brigades have some really good kit! Perhaps somebody could give us some info on the spec?

The truck is a 2008 Fuso Canter FG649 4WD Single Cab, 3.9 litre turbocharged intercooled diesel, 5 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. Not too sure about the rest!

This vehicle is based on the NSW Rural Fire Services Cat7 light tanker!

40ltr BFFF Foam
2 Stage Centrifugal Pump - 1800lpm
2x McClouds Tools
8x 30mtr 38mm perforated hose
4x 30mtr 35mm non-perforated hose
2x Hydrant Stand-pipe
1x Hydrant Bar
1x 3mtr 65mm quick fill hydrant hose
Assorted hand tools, eg. brooms, shovels
1x 40mtr 35mm Live Reel (1st air reel)
1x Chainsaw + Fuel
2x 38mm outputs
1x 25mm output
1x Drip torch + Fuel
1x 120hp portable pump - 600lpm

Its set up similarly to its RFS Cousin

This truck was horrible! According to a friend in the designing section, they didn't think it through and the result was a useless little thing like this. Only 1 was ever made and they scrapped the idea in favour of 4WD tankers that were posted to stations such as Menai and Barns Crescent
