The missing 57 plate Volvo should be back on the run very soon. It has been away to E One in Scotland for repair following an RTA, it has also had a ladder gantry fitted whilst away due to difficulties removing the 13.5 ladder due to the hight of the vehicle.

Thanks for that Paul, i'm not really that shocked to learn of the problem re the ladder, but what is of concern is why doesn't anyone listen to the crews and find out what they need to do the job properly and give you the kit without having to modify it?

Have to be honest Paul, it seemed in terms of acceleration that the older machine had the edge, but could that be down to the tightness of the engine on the newer machine? heard the same story from a driver at Malton that the 57 plate was sluggish compared to the 53 plate it replaced, any ideas?
