John, lets not go down that road again and lets be honest, British fire brigades
have now been using these Volvo/Bronto's for some 20years since London first
introduced them to the UK back in 1990 with their Volvo/Angloco/Bronto Skylift
8x4 ALP's, then rescue's and then the pumps.They really can't be all that bad.
Harvey, nice picture and welcome back to the site, we've all missed you.
PS.Maybe the new ALP should go back to its original Stn in Hove if Brighton
can't handle it?.Be honest, Brighton always did seem to like the old TL's.

well i think that brighton should keep Eastbourne ALP which they have and which they have wrecked. and i think that Eastbourne should have this nice new ALP .

Welcome back Harvey. Which ALP was distroyed at the firework factory blaze? Was it the R reg that was at Hove?

Andy,I should have mentioned the reg in my post to you when you asked me this question, the registration of the ALP that was written off was the original Hove appliance (R778FWV) that was later moved to Brighton. It was operational from Preston Circus Fire Station at the time of the fireworks factory blaze.Pete.

These are the aerials every UK brigade should be using epecially in my own county Cheshire, much better looking than TLs IMO.

There are loads of very different types of ladders, towers and platform in use by fire services all over the World, built in different countries by different manufacturers on different chassis. Every one is built to a purpose, decided by thousands of fire services to best address their particular challenges, and they do display a dazzling array of variety. This fact is admirably illustrated on this site, thanks to numerous contributors from dozens of countries. But in my seventy years of interest in fire services and fire appliances, I have never heard of a single case where the priority was what one looked like...
