Lovely appliance

We have just ordered 8 of these in Suffolk, they have been registered as 58 plate appliances, can't wait!!

Does anyone know what these are like generally??

Would be nice to know

Cheers x

Usually some pumpers are fitted with electrical winch. It is better this appliance pulled the truck with a winch.

Hi ya peter well ive been in them but sadly not for a drive but most of the firefighters love it so we will have to see what suffolk say about it

I would guess this appliance is not winching the tipper but merely stabilizing the situation to stop any further movement occurring

I recently spoke to a drive in the North Yorks area about these appliances and his model was on a 57 plate, he stated that compared to the older 53 this one replaced, the 57 plate was sluggish and not as responsive as the older appliance.

Peter, just wear your seatbelt if the driver corners faster than 25mph!

Oh dear... that doen't sound good... bad at handling then i guess, mind you, what do you expect from a converted bin waggon, not designed for the job?

Just occurred to me [and no doubt, other Readers are being just too polite to mention it]....Extended Rescue Pump - the acronym is "ERP" eg the sounds emitted by the crew, after too good a meal, whomped up in the Firehall kitchen...

A new appliance has now replaced this one. this one has now moved to the far east of the county and is running as the second away at Hove Fire Station. (Call sign Whiskey Zero Two)
