This is a very characteristic big city full time Japanese fire station.
From left to right:
1- Station officer's command van - Crew three, including senior sergeant or lieutenant. 2- Ambulance, staffed by two paramedic firefighters. 3- Heavy pumper, five crew. 4- Rescue squad truck, also crewed by five specialist rescue personnel. 5- 30 meter low profile aerial tower, seats five but usually manned by three or four firefighters.
There may well be additional appliances on the back row, as most stations have two or three pumpers and many operate a second ambulance.
Some fire stations have appliance room doors. This one does not, which is actually not that unusual. Japan is a uniquely law-abiding country, and thefts from empty fire stations are unheard of...
