Doctor, this is great stuff!! I love the body being carted away to the waiting hearse, and looks like another one laid out to the left of the wheeled escape centre. But, what I really love is the chief on the fireground too!! He's the guy in the chrome helmet and chain link shoulder braid to left centre, being briefed on the catastrophe by probably the senior officer on the scene.. If it wasn't for the wheeled escapes, there may have been no survivors!!??

Dr.B.A. Hutchinson, I've just returned from art class, and what does an old would-be, if they could-be, fire fighter artist produce, after much to do from the art teacher?? Why a painting by Charles Vigor of course!! So, after lots and lots of encouragement from the disciplined band of volunteers at the Western Australia Fire Brigades (Historical workshops) FESA, tomorrow I'll take a couple of snaps and post my reproduction of "Saved" that I believe is currently in the proud possession of the Fire Service College, UK.
(Footnote) Barry, I'm officiating at a two day horse show this weekend, so depending on daylight when I can photograph, , may be couple days, , , , :)

Yes Pavel Vigors 'Saved' is indeed at Moreton-in-the-Marsh, the Fire Service College, however prior to that it was on the staircase at Southport Fire Station, now part of Merseyside.

Pavel, I will look forward to seeing your painting. I will send you by email a high resolution scan of the above because it truly is wonderful. One small correction though, the CFO's helmet is silver plated not chrome!

If anyone else would like the high resolution scan just ask.
