My dad used to drive this. Is it still in Scotland as I had heard that it's back in Mortimer rotting away! 😢

The F7 had a 13'6" wheelbase and some brigades thought that this resulted in the vehicle being a bit too long, with a rather wide turning circle, especially with the wheeled escape ladder.

As a result, the F12 became much more popular, as it had a 12'6" wheelbase, but was otherwise identical, apart from losing some locker space in the lockers between the rear wheels and the pump bay.

Middlesborough had one of each, but usually ran the F12 as the pump escape for this reason. They also modified the water tanks, increasing the F12 to 200 IG and the F7 to 250, as it had more space...
