Photographed during the air display at Säve on 30 August 2008. "Räddningstjänsten" means "Rescue Services". I wonder what the big box on the back is for.
Of course, VOLVO truck - silly me )>-:] - obviously, I am from outside of the European Economic Community !
Our Devoted Readers, from Sweden, might have the answer on that box. If you have it, a rear-view photo of the Crash-Truck, or a sister; might give us a clue.
My guess is that it is for a requirement, or, equipment; that came up after this Crash-Truck went into service. And something, that wouldn't freeze up, in the Swedish winters. Peat-moss/absorbent for oil spills ? A portable Equipment Module ? Geez, what is that BOX for !?
Nice-looking rig; good logos, too, that tell you it is for airplanes, and Medical First Response - my old paramedic self recognizes the "Normal Sinus Rhythm" [Heart-Beat] decal on the side of the cab.
Neat side/grab-rails on top of the body-work, too. Figured that you were there to take pictures of airplanes; so dodged over and enjoyed your work on 'planesandchoppers.com' ( find, at "Home" here ).
