do the british fire brigades not buy these wonderfull appliances ?

I think you'll find Alan that there are more of these appliances in England than anywhere else as they are a British firm (Dennis) who manufacture them. They export quite a few these days and have supplied them as far away as Hong Kong.

yes justin but appears that more brigades are buying converted lorries ie scania and the dennis website only mentions buses to my surprise.

Dennis no longer make the Rapier, they now only make the Dagger & Sabre. The Sabre is bigger than a Rapier and the Dagger is about the same size as a Rapier. The Dagger hasn't really caught on as the Rapier did.

There are only two with the XL cab over here (de) but they are lovely to see they do not look like modified trucks but purpose built fire appliances, beautiful.
