My name is Rick Loudon I organise the Eden Camp Fire and rescue rally at Eden Camp in Malton North Yorkshire, perhaps you would like to bring this appliance to the show next July?
Hi Rick, My mate and I fully intended to bring a couple up to your show this summer, but unfortunately i broke my hand the week before! When i first bought this, i thought that i would be looking at a 12 month restoration, but having stripped the rear end down this week, there are only 3 bits of rotten wood! I am trying to find a local joiner able to make me new posts up using the old ones as patterns. I really do think it will be finished for early spring, so yes i will be bringing it to your show.
Hi Dave, Thanks for the offer!! Actually its very nearly finished now. Just aluminium to polish and to get paintwork gleaming Or resprayed if we can't get a good enough finish on the original gelcoat. Due to finances, might not be finished for Eden camp, but will keep trying.
one of the joys of restoration is the 'evolving' comments on the process of restoration, I have absolutly no problem with a 'part finished' vehicle, - I have many of that 'ilk'myself, indeed we have a trophy for the 'most improved' vehicle so it follows if its better after 'year 1' you are in with a chance of winning it. regards Rick
Nice machine. Do you have any more photos of it that you can post
