What a nice and impressive looking WrC. I prefer WrC built on Volvo chassis.

hi pete can you tell us a bit more about this machien being abel to fight fires not just a tanker like the larger vertion

Added by Scally on 05 October 2007.
The WrC basically is used to supply a large volume of water (13000 litres) to the fireground, ie...into dams or straight into tanks of pumps attending the incident. In rural areas where sometimes there is a water shortage, a relay or shuttle would be set up.The hose reel would be only used for damping down at grass/bush fires, or to protect itself whilst standing on burnt ground whilst supplying water.

It should also be added that this machine was constructed within the accomodation constraints of the station at which it is allocated. This accounts for what some might consider a rather "squashed" appearance.

Thanks for your comments Ian, yes I should have mentioned that the station is only a two bay station, and that the WrC is located in a much smaller brick building at the back of the drill yard which of coarse restricted its size. The out building being much smaller then a standard bay (lenght) of a station.
