Lately there's been some interest in the few Camiva TLs that saw service in the UK, particularly from a certain Mr Johnson! Well this one's for you, Rob.

Taken in the early '90s at Longton fire station's open day, this rather elegant TL (E282 MRE) served its entire Staffs life at Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. (Sorry it's a bit blurred: it's a photo of a photo.)

To be fair, the walking problem was probably Bedwas fault - whoever they were! But the Camiva was not all that successful anywhere.

Some of their units supplied to BSPP had to be modified, and - just like Merryweather, Geesink and others - they eventually succumbed to the mighty onslaught of the much better engineered and quality built German Magirus and Metz offerings...
