Comments:
i hear Central Scotland FRS is having problems with their CARPS, has anyone heard whether Kilkenny and the other Irish Brigades have had any teething problems?. Central's still remain off the run.

this vehicle is a bit of a 'jack of all trades and a master of none' it can only carry about half the amount of water and equipment than that of a standard type B tender and the ariel won't reach as high as standard ALPs, so why waste money on a vehicle that doesnt offer any more benefits than any other vehicles on the fleet?

Maybe they bought the CARPS for initial aerial firefighthing and rescue in medium height building.

Added by Bomba Boy on 16 March 2008.
No, they are being bought purely on cost saving measures (or so they think) by cutting the 'dedicated aerial appliance thereby 'saving' money on jobs I seem to think this failed exercise is being repeated from the 1970's

Carps just keep falling over, breaking down or off the run.

the fbu should have the balls to stand up and say enough is enough, before some poor soul dies because of these, sell them back to the manufacturer, cut your losses and get a purpose built appliance, these are a joke, but no one is laughing.......

Usually it takes a very bad accident or fatal injury before anything is done.

Yep you are right John. they are cutting cost. But i think the brigades which owns the CARP with the Snorkel appliance like the Hong Kong FSD Scania/SK Fire/Magirus Simon Snorkel. (picture #1035 )
