Brandweer Lommel Ford

This Ford used to be in service with the Lommel Fire Brigade. It's looking very nice after a restauration.

Comments:
Do you think these blue lights are original or added during the later life of the vehicle. When were blue lights used? I can't remember from my youth (late 50's-early 60's) that any blue lights were in use by either police, fire brigade or ambulances. It seems to me that these were introduced at the end of the 60's and most certainly 'retrofitted' to all cars in use at the time.

I love the look of this vehicle. Is the interior open for storage or is it equiped with a water tank.

Would one not refer to these beautiful vehicles as limousines?.
