Photographed just about to drive away from its home station, Hartlepool Stranton, on Friday 9th August 2013, on a visit to the town of my birth.... I think I am right in thinking that this station, back in the 1980s when I first started photographing fire stations, was a three pump station (usually Dennis SS) with an ET (Range Rover) and an HP (which I think was a Shelvoke Drewry but I may be off the mark with that one - any ideas?). Now it appears to be a 2 pump station with this ICU.. how times change

And if you are as old as I am, you might just remember the AEC Mercury TL as well. This machine looks strange with its flared over wheel arch and go faster bit on the front roof. Not to mention the battenburg effect!
