Superb looking TL, there is just something about the ergomatic cab that looks right on a fire appliance. What happened to this TL ? Did it survive into preservation ?

Quite unusual to see a single cab version of these AEC turntables.

Great shot. Believe the two Dorset TLs were the only AEC Ergo TLs in the UK without a crew cab.

Added by Phil Reed on 22 November 2011.
And of the original AEC Merryweather TLs only Southports had a single cab....only ran with the driver anyway.

Thank's for your comments guy's. picture #26912 that we took shows the AEC we had on the run at Worcester for 20+ years, with the full crew cab.

Your right what a classic TL. The appliance was last seen and photographed in a farmers field next door to Crich Tram museum in Derbyshire.Does anyone know of it's where abouts now?

I believe that one was sold to the Northern Teretories in Australia and it ran without any doors , just a safety chain

Added by Simon Hilliam on 26 November 2011.
I can't personally remember the Northern Territories one, though they are well known for having appliances without doors. At least some of their Dennis pumps were like this, as was the ERF/Metz TL.

Checkout Lou Cowan's pictures of the yellow appliances of the NTFS.Also, the ERF/Metz is shown at picture #9860 and this was a 4 door type(sorry no doors)turntable Ladder.

The ACT Fire Brigade also had one it is now part of there museum fleet.
