1959 Roneys / GMC Chelan County

Roneys was a small manufacturer in Portland, Oregon from 1952 to 1960. You can read more at http://www.pnwspaamfaa.com/Roney.htm. This engine is still in service for Chelan Country in north central Washington state. It is a model GP-4 with a 750 GPM pumper with a small tank.

Handy rig for the country-side, with that front-mounted pump.
The Pump Operator can spot the truck easily, even on uncertain ground, as the rear[drive] wheels can stay on firm ground, for backing her out afterwards.
And then he can keep a good view of the fire-scene, while operating the relatively simple pump.
Great to see it still in service, and cared for; especially when made by a long-gone maker.
