East Glacier Park Superior

This is an early 70's pumper built on an International Loadstar chassis by Superior Fire Apparatus of Helana, Montana. Superior is no longer in business but was as late as 1995. I'd guess it is a 750 GPM model with pump and roll capacity. There is a platform on the right front bumper for a rider to operate a booster line while the truck is chasing a brush or wheat field fire.

A "pulpit" would be another name for it.

in addition to the front mount pump - it's another thing that uses the front bumper.

a great k.i.s.s. Idea - the driver can easily watch out for his hoseman;
and get directions....

there is another - superior emergency vehicles ltd, red deer, alberta, canada - founded 1973. 2003; lost its name - folded into emergency one inc, under federal signal corp, which also has the bronto sky lift, of tampere, finland.

will Miss all these individual fire apparatus makers; in the universal corporate products.

great photo of a unique truck.

regards, from canada,
