I presume, as with most brigades with an airport in their area, are used when appliances are airside on manouvers when not engaged in emergency duties?
This pump has been fitted with an amber beacon as it is close to Shuttleworth Aerodrome. The Civil Aviation Authority requires all vehicles airside to be fitted with an amber beacon to be used whilst mobile, whether blue lights are being used or not. Of course, this doesn't limit it's uses, but that's why it was fitted.
