NED 146 at Manchester Gay Pride Parade 2010

Just for Gary, this modified version of Crosfields F1 owned by Cheshire Fire & RS Heritage Section.
The graphics are only temporary vinyl and will be removed later this week.
Some on here may consider this to be sacrilege, however it was greatly appreciated by the thousands of public (gay and straight) lining the route of the parade who were indicating their approval by the continuous applause and cheering and I understand we have won an award.
I have been assured that the rainbows will come off without leaving a trace but any damage will be rectified.

Thanks Barrie, I think it will catch on when the Mandarins realise how visible these stripes are! Perhaps you can put this in the bays at Warrington for them! It certainly made my 11 year old smile. Hope it comes off better than the "water soluable" paint used on the Police painted loco in Intercity adverts in the 80s. If not I will happily help out.

That poor Labrador, what must he be thinking?????.

I gonna quote the kids that text in America...WTF? Thank goodness it's temporary, but it looks like Fido's posterior to me, the truck, not the dog.

It is in the bays at Warrington...Gary! Thanks for the offer though.

You will be all pleased to know that NED has been returned to natural state today. Will be on display at the Rochdale Fire Museum Open Day this Sunday 10-4 behind the fire station admission free

Ah, look on the bright side - both the Lab and the truck were spared the pink treatment...rather neat job with the colo(u)rs, I think.

Pat they do have a truck that has undergone "the pink treatment". Fortunately it's not a historic truck, just an old Mercedes pump(er)

Brilliant photo, cant help thinking you'd expect to see George, Bungle, and Zippy on board. Thanks for the chuckle.
