1938 Hobart Ford Hose Carriage/ Escape

I took this photo at the Tasmanian Fire Service Museum in Hobart in 2009. This is a Ford V8 and coachwork was built by Cramp Bros. Bodyworks, Hobart. It entered service in 1939 and was decommissioned in 1969. The ladder is a Morris 'Ajax'. (50 feet) Various hoses, extinguishers and hose fittings were also carried. The vehicle was restored by the Tasmanian Fire Museum in time for the centenary of the Hobart Fire Brigade in 1983.
