Modernised Green Goddess

This is the vehicle mentioned in pic 16557 its a re - engined and modernised Green Goddess that TNT truckcare did as a project with a view (I think) to modernising the whole fleet - then the British Government decided to sell them off !

The picture was taken at Lincoln Steam Rally on the county showground last August this years rally is 21st and 22nd August and is well worth attending !

Rick, can you let me know what alterations were carried out. Externally I can see the obvious, the strobes and roller lockers but how about mechanically?

Matt, it has a Cummins diesel engine, ZF gearbox, uprated brakes and suspension, new electrics etc

We had one of these in 2000 when North Yorkshire was very badly flooded. All the other "Green Goddess's" were the standard dark green. I think North Yorkshire fire and rescue borrowed 25 " Green Goddess's" in total for pumping out duties to supplement the brigades fleet. It was an extremely busy few weeks with some long distant stand bye's and calls to incidents.
