1919 Model T Ford Fire Engine. This 1919 Model T Ford Fire Engine of the St Petersburg Beach Fire Department,USA was shipped to the UK in the late 1980's by Jack Hill of Hills of Botley. It stood in Jacks shed for around ten years, was not driven, and was given very little attention. The present owner,Mr David Hall of Southampton bought the fire engine in December 1999,and with lots of elbow grease and loving tender care brought it back to life once again.
It was entered into the 2001 Dorset Steam Fair, entered several local shows, and competed in the London to Brighton run in 2002.
There has been one major hitch when one front wheel disintegrated recently, but a replacement as been ordered and is now being made at this present time. The Model T was displayed at the Odiham Fire Show on Saturday,7th August,2010 with borrowed front wheels from another collector of Model T's of his own.
The above information was obtained from the owners boarding attached to the fire engine.
This was certainly one of my favorites at this years Odiham Show-A real little classic early American Model T Ford Fire Engine.
