I can't see all the registration but I think its DYC646,this was a 1938 Leyland FK6 which was delivered in September of 1938 to Martock Parish Council Fire Brigade.

Thanks Pete, after i had posted this i had a look at the Leyland booklet and came to the same conclusion.
This appliance still survives but in an unrestored condition it has'nt been touched since these pictures were taken probably its now sheeted over in an overgrown garden 'up north' - the owner has died he was in his 90's 10 years or so ago- there is little or no family and it lies almost abandoned with no interest !
I'm sorry but I have no pictures of it 'as is' now, as I said the owner was in his 90's about 10 years ago when I went to look at it - he would'nt allow me to even take a picture of it covered over ! all I could ascertain is the Gwynne pump has been removed at some time previously - he wanted £6000 for it when we spoke !!!!!
I called by the village where this Leyland was yesterday, (25th February 2010) its still there ! the sheet is remaining but the house is abandoned and the garden including the Leyland is completely overgrown with brambles and weeds - however there are signs that someone has been there in the last year or so !
I took some photos - of the weeds !! but am unsure as to whether to post them or not as the last scrapyard pics I posted the editors declined to use them saying there was nothing recognisable as a fire engine !
Wow Rick, that's amazing! Been looking for an excuse to mention it but have you seen the ex London 1918 Leyland on Ebay at the moment see item number 140378429192, it shows what can be achieved from a wreck in a hedge!
