Great truck - what is the angle-iron construction, between the 2 Rotating Blue Lights(Beacons)?
Is it a protective guard ?

Pat,the appliance here is seen carrying a 35ft Bayley's wooden ladder, this now making the appliance be classed as a water tender. It would have carried a 45ft 3 section aluminium ladder that when stowed reached the stop gantry at the front angle-iron construction.
This picture was taken by Petros back in 1987, I took a picture a few years later (1991) and it shows it carrying its correct ladder. I will forward a picture into site.Pete.
