AEC Merryweather TL JCM 61 Birkenhead

taken 1974 in the yard of the then new Exmouth St station - this is a 1957 machine but the ladder set comes from a 1940 wartime TL, BG 8246. New turret and console added by Merryweather. Went to the Merseyside Fire Museum.

This appliance currently resides in the Merseyside Museums Large Objects Store at Bankhall Lane (rear of Kirkdale Fire Station). Sadly, not open to general public.

This appliance along with several others have been moved to a new store whilst the large objects store gets a new roof and general refurb. It took 3days to move them as only 1 was a runner.I was lucky enough to be involved in rehousing them and took several photos of them being moved.
