Fire Engines Photos

Nice picture. I had wondered what the Dodge H.C.B Angus Escapes with Bristol looked like, they look rather like the bodywork on the E.R.Fs that Bristol also had. The actual Escapes must have been taken out of use soon afterwards, anyone know roughly when please? Also where in Bristol was this photo taken? I go shopping in Bristol a lot and it would be interesting to find out what this scene looks like now.

Great picture, Bristol Bob. A photo of an appliance in action can be so much more interesting than it just standing in the yard.

George,the picture was taken at the junction of Aashley rd and Sussex place,st pauls,i am not sure when the escapes were withdrawn,i will try and find out.
As you say,the bodywork is much the same for both machines,i will try and submit more action photos.

I've had a look through the Avon fleet lists (thanks to Bob), and it looks like the last Escapes went off the run in early 1981.
