1942 LEYLAND TD7 TLP no. GLW427, Hull F.BTaken at West Hull fire station, Calvert Lane 17/6/68 (I.K. Jessop photo). Possibly the last TD7 TLP in service in the UK (until 1974). NFS supplied taken into City & County of Kingston Upon Hull F.B. ownership 1948.

Yes these are wonderful period views David. Have you ever thought about getting in touch with Hull Transport Museum to see if these pictures can be archived?
I'm sure they would be acceptable to these important pieces of Kingston upon Hull's social History.

I always thought it extraordinary in the 1970s to see this appliance still on the run. I saw it in action at the fire that destroyed the bowling alley on Beverley Road

How fortunate, you were, Tim - the rig was over 30 years old on retirement, some 35 years ago, and still working.
Awfully glad that David J. has passed us down these wonderful pics, themselves some 43 years old and the colours have held.
My-self, I now have priceless memories of a wonderful old American LaFrance 1929, open-cab pumper, on wood-spoke wheels, responding in the 1960's......
