You're about right with the date Graham, theres one of the four Shelvoke and Drewery SPV pumps that Humberside had next to it they were W registration. 1980 -81
This thing is an absaloute beast! Is it any wonder that AEC were the best things on the road! Dose it still survive?, and is the bodywork by Park Royal?
4919 RH was ordered (and delivered) as a foam tender/carrier and later converted to an ET,it is bodied by Merryweather and came out of service in 1983, I remember it in my early days in Humberside Fire Brigade but did'nt see it much because at the time we did'nt have the Humber Bridge so a trip to Hull was 100 miles on a round trip (Humberside was very much two separate brigades until the bridge was built !) Unfortunatly my interest in vintage appliances /brigade history did'nt 'break through' until the mid '80's but thankfully thro this website and friends some old friends (and enemies)appliance wise are reappearing !
No John you misunderstand me, by 'enemies' I am referring to certain appliances such as the White Green Goddess recently shown ! Of course it is a brotherhood we are in !
