The fire engine was built Totton, near Southampton on a Morris 3-ton Chassis capable of carrying a crew of six and all the equipment required. It was delivered to Somerdale Keynsham in September 1965 being driven from Totton by Gerald Little and Harry Kempster with Des Ryan (G.I. Fire E) and Jack Brooks leading the way in a car. The Fire Engine and works brigade were "busy" during the flooding of Keynsham in July 1968, ensuring the factory remained operational and helping the wider community, responding to calls for assistance from Somerset Fire HQ and the Keynsham Town Council. This is an early picture of the engine taken outside No 3 lodge (fire station) at Somerdale. Soon afterwards the windows below the flashing light and the bell on the other side were removed as there was limited headroom in the station entrance. I believe following the sale of the engine the windows were replaced and the position flashing light and bell raised.
