Alex Lane, help me out here. Is that a telephone hand piece I see in the pump bay area to rear?! What do you do with that? And, are they the original old suction hose clamps on the rear locker wall!? In my day I would have gotten a boot up the a. if I'd stowed the ase-end near-sde hose locker without all couplings aligned! That was the difference between the best and the, , , , ?!

Hi Pavel, That is indeed a telephone handset in the pump bay- it is in addition to the phone in the cab. This allows the driver/pump operator to request more resources to an incident, inform Q.D (control room) of whats going on at an incident etc from the pump bay so the pump doesnt have to be left unattended.

Yes those are original suction hose wrenches in the pump bay, used to take the collecting head off and also connecting and tightening the hard suction hoses to the intake of the major pump.

The reason for the hose couplings not all being aligned is because they often get caught in the locker when closing, so they have to be jiggled about a bit before the locker can close propery - its not the firefighters being slack!!!

a nice photo. Have you got any details on the rescue gear carried. It looks as if the appliance is carrying Hurst rescue gear, however I cannot see whether it carries a combi tool or cutter and spreader. Does it also carry a sabre saw?

Interested to see what type of hose couplings, for both the discharge and suction hoses - I take it, both sets have male/female connections.....

Hi Matthias, as you pointed out, this appliance carries Hurst cutting equipment. The JL27 is kept on the bottom shelf (just visible on the far right side of the shelf) with the jaws, hydraulic pump and hydraulic lines. On the pull-out shelf above are two different size rams. The Combi Cutter is carried by the first away ( picture #10695 ), but only carries the epco manual hydraulic spreaders and rams.

Neither appliance carries a sabre saw, although we did have one on trial a few months ago, carried on the first away, but we no longer have it.

Pat, the delivery hose has 23/4" male and female instantaneous couplings, the suction has 6" screw male / female.
