Manufacturer's information
Added on 18 August 2010 at 12:10 by Marcel Gommers
Your knowledge needed!

Hi all visitors and contributors,
We try to keep the information on our site as accurate and complete as possible. We have been trying to add specific manufacturers information to every manufacturer for this reason. However, a few remain either elusive and unknown to us and we keep lacking the time to write a brief synopsis on these (keeping on top of all the great photos and comments you post is obviously the priority). So we hope you might be able and willing to help and write a small piece on some of the manufacturers to help make this site even more complete...

We are looking forward seeing the fruits of your expert knowledge shortly - just email them to me: editor@fire-engine-photos.com!
Thanks for the help!
First log

Our first entry on the news page, just a brief introduction.

On this page we will try to keep you informed with all that is going on with the Fire Engine Photos site and its visitors. From maintenance work on the site right through to items that we think you might be interested in.

So to start just now: As you know the site has been re-designed and moved to a different server. This was needed faster then we wanted and as a result there are still some things to sort out. We've had a lot of feedback from you and after several weeks of playing with the site we have been able to sit down with the programmer, Garve, and the graphic designer Colin. We've come up with a list of improvements to make and we are hopeful that we can make these in the next few weeks. Note that this site and its siblings are run on a voluntary base. Both Marcel S. and me (M&M) have regular full-time jobs and even Garve does a lot of the work outside office hours. So it might not move as quick as you'd like it to be, but we do our best :)

We all love the fact that the Fire Engine site is so well visited and used and M&M appreciate the photographic contributions in particular. So keep it coming, there is nothing more we could wish for!

Finally a short bit of info to give you an idea of the size of this particular site: there are over 7,500 photos, over 10,000 comments and about 1,500 visitors a day (that is over half a million per annum). We think it is great to feel part of that community, thank you all!
